Project overview
Deepcore: The Enigma of Di Renjie is a planned immersive short film of approximately 25 minutes. It uses the detective narrative as an accessible point of entry into Chinese cave culture and the political imagination of the Tang dynasty, connecting Asian historical mystery with emerging forms of immersive cinema. Through stereoscopic 360° VR, Unreal Engine 5 real-time production, motion capture, and spatial sound, the project shifts the audience from watching an investigation to inhabiting its scene.
